Crews reinstalled the top part of the frame and awning at Civitan Park (aka the “Dinosaur Park”), located at 1430 S.E. Silver Lake Road, on Tuesday morning.
“Recent rains and muddy ground delayed the project because we didn’t want the crane to get stuck,” said Director of Engineering Micah Siemers. “We had an opening (on Tuesday) and crews were able to get the shade structure reinstalled.”
After City staff noted deficiencies in the structure last year, the shade structure was removed and later repaired before being reinstalled this week.
The structure was originally donated to the City by the local Civitan group in 2014.
The park and playground are open to the public.
