The Bartlesville Police Department consists of two locations, the main station at 615 S. Johnstone Ave. and a newer eastside substation, located inside the Tri County Tech facility at 6105 S.E. Nowata Road.
Most operations are housed at the main facility in downtown Bartlesville, while K-9 officers and the Training Division are maintained at the substation. The substation, which opened in late 2019, also allows officers working and patrolling on the east side with convenient access to a work station to complete case reports and other tasks, as well as necessary resources which would have otherwise required them to drive across town to obtain.
“The Bartlesville Police Department has a wonderful partnership with Tri County Tech and working together we have created a substation and training facility on their campus,” said Police Chief Kevin Ickleberry.
In August 2023, the BPD Eastside Station and Training Division moved from the main campus building of Tri County Tech to the Strategy Center, located on the east side of the campus.
The move continues the mission of the eastside substation and also offers easier classroom access, which has created a much-needed training center for BPD.
“This substation will become the central hub for continuing education that the Bartlesville Police Department provides to its officers, as well as a training center for other officers from around the great State of Oklahoma,” said Ickleberry. “We have slowly started remodeling and updating equipment to provide a quality classroom experience for law enforcement continuing education.”
In addition, BPD also plans to build a full-time obstacle course at the training center for police officer applicants and yearly officer physical fitness assessments.
“Our goal is to have the ability to serve our community and the officers of BPD,” said Ickleberry.
